    Let \(B\) be an ideal of a finite-dimensional Malcev algebra \(M\) over a field of characteristic not two. Denoting by \(J(x,y,z)\) the Jacobian of the elements \(x\), \(y\), and \(z\), one defines inductively the following subspaces: \[ J^ 1_ 0(B)=J(B,B,B),\quad J_ 0^{m+1}(B)=J(J^ m_ 0(B),J^ m_ 0(B),J^ m_ 0(B)); \] \[ J^ 1_ 1(B)=J(B,B,M),\quad J_ 1^{m+1}(B)=J(J^ m_ 1(B),J^ m_ 1(B),M); \] \[ J^ 1_ 2(B)=J(B,M,M),\quad J_ 2^{m+1}(B)=J(J^ m_ 2(B),M,M). \] \(B\) is then said to be \(J_ i\)-potent if \(J^ n_ 1(B)=0\) for some \(n\), and the author proves the following are equivalent: (1) \(B\) is \(J_ 0\)- potent, (2) \(B\) is \(J_ 1\)-potent, (3) \(J(B,B,B)\) is contained in the solvable radical of \(M\). He also characterized the \(J_ 2\)-potent ideals, and shows by example that \(J_ 1\)-potent does not imply \(J_ 2\)-potent. In addition, this paper contains some results on semisimple Malcev algebras.
