Some inequalities hold for the weighted sums of squared coefficients of the polynomials of degree at most \(n\) with zero on \(| z|=1\) as has been shown by \textit{A. Giroux} and \textit{Q. I. Rahman} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 193, 67-98 (1974; Zbl 0288.30006)] using an ad hoc method. It is shown in the reviewed paper that all these inequalities may be proved using the classical principle of Lagrange multipliers. The latter method is of a wider scope because it may be applied also in case when the polynomial is subject to multiple constraints, e.g. \(p(-1)= p(1)=0\).
