The following theorem is proved. Given any number \(\varepsilon>0\), sequences \(\{\beta_ k\}\) and \(\{N_ k\}\) such that \(\beta_ k>0\), \(\beta_ k\to 0\) and \(N_ k\uparrow\), \(N_{2k}-N_{2k-1}\to\infty\) as \(k\to\infty\), there exists a measurable set \(E\subset[0,2\pi]\) of measure \(| E|>2\pi-\varepsilon\) such that for every function \(f\in L[0,2\pi]\) there exists a function \(g\in L[0,2\pi]\) possessing the following properties: (i) \(f(x)=g(x)\) if \(x\in E\), (ii) the Fourier series of \(g\) converges in the metric of \(L[0,2\pi]\), (iii) \(\sum(| a_ k(g)|+| b_ k(g)|)\beta_ k<\infty\), (iv) \(a_ k(g)=b_ k(g)=0\) if \(k\not\in\bigcup[N_{2s-1},N_{2s}]\), where the \(a_ k(g)\), \(b_ k(g)\) are the Fourier coefficients of \(g\).
