The authors consider the second order nonlinear differential equation (1) \((py')'+q(t)f(z(y),\) \(py')=0\). Under appropriate conditions on the functions \(f\), \(p\), \(q\) and \(z\) and by Elbert's approach to using a known Riccati technique they present certain oscillation criteria for equation (1).
