This work studies some generic properties of a set of solutions of equations closely related to the Navier--Stokes problem and of the techniques used in the subsequent analysis. In particular, the structure of the set of stationary solutions of the Navier--Stokes equations are considered. Use is made of the implicit function theorem and the Smale theorem when defining the Leray--Schauder degree, preparatory to considering the problem of the continuous dependence of the set of solutions with respect to the data.
