The author uses linear polynomials over finite fields to construct complete sets of mutually orthogonal frequency hyperrectangles with prime power dimensions. The hyperrectangles which are considered are very general, in fact his constructions generalize nearly all previously known sets of parameters for complete sets of squares, hypercubes or rectangles with prime power dimensions. While the details are too complicated to discuss here, the author makes very effective use of subfield permutation polynomials which he previously discussed in [Acta Arith. 54, 307-315 (1990; Zbl 0703.11073)].
