Fabricius-Bjerre gave a formula for generic closed curves in the real affine plane which relates the number of nodes, inflections, cusps, and beaks to the properly counted number of double tangents. The author gives two extensions for curves in the real projective plane. They are too complicated to be given here. The main idea is to fix a point on the curve. Some numbers in these formulas then depend on this chosen point. Fabricius-Bjerre's formula follows by choosing this point in such a way that its tangent supports the curve.
