In this paper the authors give a new proof of Vidav-Palmer theorem for the case of \(m\)-convex algebras. They also consider theorems of this type in terms of hermitian, quasi-hermitian and uniformly Hermitian elements. As a consequence they obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for a spectrally bounded locally \(C^*\)-algebra to be strongly spectrally bounded. Conditions on a cone in an algebra are given, which permit to endow the algebra with a Hermitian structure.
