A typical example of the Schrödinger-type mixed boundary value problem is \(-\Delta u+\delta r^{-2r}u=f\) with \(r\) being the Euclidean distance to the origin. In order to cope with the singularity, weighted Sobolev spaces are used. When the numerical solution by finite elements is analyzed, there is some parallelism with the treatment of singularities at corners on the boundary in the (standard) finite element theory.
