The Galerkin method \(\left\{ \left\langle \displaystyle F\left(\sum_{n=0}^p q_n\varphi_n(x)\right),\psi_j(x)\right\rangle =\left\langle h(x),\psi_j(x)\right\rangle, j=0,1,...,p\right\}\) for the operator equation (between Hilbert spaces) \(F(z)=h\) can be considerably simplified for a wide class of mappings \(F\) if the symmetry of the first and second kind Chebyshev polynomials \((\varphi_n(x)=G_{ni}(x); i\in \{1,2\}, n=0,1,...)\) is taken into account. Precisely, the possibility of minimizing the amount of calculations involved in constructing approximate solutions is demonstrated, for various operator equations attached to stationary and non-stationary dynamic systems.
