Let \(M^{2n+1}\) be a Sasakian manifold equipped with a Sasakian structure \((\varphi, \xi, \eta, g)\) and let \(N^m\) be an integral submanifold of the contact distribution (determined by \(\eta = 0\)). Then \(m \leq n\) and \(N\) is called a Legendrian submanifold if \(m = n\). These manifolds exist for any \(m \leq n\) and they are all anti-invariant submanifolds so that their geometry is related to their transverse geometry. Many studies have been devoted to this class of submanifolds and in this paper the author contributes to this part of contact geometry. More specifically, he considers the case where there exists on \(M\) a closed conformal vector field. He starts by looking in detail to some properties related to the second fundamental form \(h\), the shape operators and the mean curvature vector \(H\) and then turns to the consideration of \(M\) equipped with a special closed conformal vector field \(X\), i.e. \(X\) satisfies \(h(X,X) = f \varphi X\) for some function \(f\). This case is treated in detail when \(M\) is the Sasakian space form \(M(-3)\). In the second part he treats \(\ast\)-Legendrian submanifolds, i.e. \(h\) satisfies \(h(Y,Z)= \alpha [g(Y,Z)H + g(\varphi Y,H)\varphi Z + g(\varphi Z,H) \varphi Y]\), in Sasakian space forms and finishes the paper with a study of Legendrian manifolds with conformal Maslov class which he relates to the \(\ast\)-Legendrian ones treated before. A motivation for the treatment of each part is given and examples are provided.
