Zeigt, wie schon vor Einführung des metrischen Systems (allerdings nach \textit{Stevin}) Bestrebungen vorliegen, die Maße dezimal zu unterteilen. Eine Reihe von mathematischen Instrumenten im Science Museum (Lineale, Sektoren, Kaliberstäbe usw.) aus dem 17. und 18. Jahrhundert zeigt eine Zehnteleinteilung des Zolls.
