Let X be a connected complex manifold. The author constructs reflexive sheaves having small rank relative to the codimension of their singular set. The data used are a reducible divisor on X and a bundle on the complement of the intersections of its components. The bundle is determined by triangular matrices. Its direct image gives the desired reflexive sheaf. In particular, standard examples of rank 2 indecomposable bundles on \({\mathbb{P}}^ 3\), \({\mathbb{P}}^ 4\) have simple constructions. No details of proofs are given but the method appears to use the complex topology rather than the Zariski topology.
