    Eine Schar (Flock) eines Kegels im dreidimensionalen projektiven Raum \(PG(3,q)\) über dem Galoisfeld \(GF(q)\) ist eine Partition der Punkte des um die Spitze verminderten Kegels in \(q\) disjunkte Ovale. Der erstgenannte Verfasser zeigte [Geom. Dedicata 72, 221-246 (1998)], daß zu einer Schar auf einem Kegel \(K\) über einem Translationsoval in \(PG(3,2^s)\) eine Menge von \(q+1\) von Permutationspolynomen korrespondiert, die auch umgekehrt die Schar, die \(\alpha\)-Schar genannt wird, bestimmt. Ist \(K\) ein quadratischer Kegel in \(PG(3,2^s)\), so ist nach \textit{S. E. Payne} [Congr. Numer. 49, 115-128 (1985)] jeder Schar auf \(K\) eine Menge von \(q+1\) Ovalen in der projektiven Ebene \(PG(2,2^s)\) assoziiert, die man eine Herde von Ovalen nennt. Die Verfasser studieren eine Klasse von \(\alpha\)-Scharen und beschreiben explizit diejenigen ihrer Exemplare, deren korrespondierende Permutationspolynome eine Herde von Ovalen bestimmen. Diese Charakterisierung folgt aus der von den Verfassern vorgenommenen Klassifizierung von Hyperovalen in \(PG(2,2^s)\), die durch die Punktmengen \(\{ (1,t,t^k)| t\in GF(2^s)\} \cup \{(0,1,0) \cup (0,0,1)\}\) mit \(k = 2^i+2^j\), \(i\neq j\) gegeben sind.
