The author applies the minor-summation formulas [\textit{M. Ishikawa} and \textit{M. Wakayama}, Linear Multilinear Algebra 39, No. 3, 285-305 (1995; Zbl 0830.15011)] to give the irreducible decompositions of some restrictions and tensor products for a special class of representations, which are called rectangular-shaped representations, of the classical Lie algebras.
