The author gives an intrinsic definition of the special geometry which arises in \(N=2\) supersymmetry in four dimensions. Then he finds a hyper-Kähler metric on the cotangent bundle of a special Kähler manifold. Finally, he defines the special geometry in supergravity in terms of the special geometry in global supersymmetry.
