In this paper the authors consider the Calabi-Yau 4-folds \(X\) which are obtained either as transversal hypersurfaces of degree \(d\) of a weighted projective space or as toric varieties whose lattice comes from the maximal Newton polyhedron associated to a polynomial of degree \(d\) which is reflexive. They give a list of possible weights both in the transversal case (for \(d\leq 4000)\) and in the reflexive case (for \(d\leq 150)\). Moreover, by considering suitable sublattices, they construct fibrations whose fibres are still Calabi-Yau varieties.
