The paper studies systems affected by both measurable and unmeasurable disturbances which are correlated. The aim is the design of an optimal feedforward controller which minimizes the output variance caused by the disturbances. An equivalent representation of the system is proposed in which measurable and unmeasurable disturbances are uncorrelated and which leads to improved performance of the controller. The direct identification of this equivalent representation is studied and numerical examples are finally provided.
