The wavelet transform for spaces of periodic functions is defined. The definition extends to spaces of distributions such as periodic Beurling ultradistributions and hyperfunctions on the unit circle. New wavelet transforms of such distributions are smooth and defined on an infinite cylinder provided that the analyzing wavelet is also smooth and sufficiently ``nice''. The inverses to wavelet transforms are studied.
