Let \(M\) be a compact oriented Riemannian manifold with boundary. Impose either absolute or relative boundary conditions to define the Laplacian on \(p\) forms; if \(p=0\), these correspond to Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions. The authors show that the gap between corresponding eigenspaces of the Laplacian on \(p\) forms, measured in the \(L_\infty\) norm, converges to zero when smooth metrics \(g_n\) converge to \(g_0\) in the \(C^1\) topology. The authors work with \(d+\delta\) rather than with \(\Delta\) since the coefficients of \(\Delta\) depend upon the \(2\)-jets of the metric, and the authors are interested in \(C^1\) bounds on the norms of the metric.
