On a uniformly convex and smooth Banach space \(X\) the author considers iterative processes of the type introduced by \textit{W. R. Mann} [ Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 4, 506-510 (1953; Zbl 0050.11603)] and \textit{S. Ishikawa} [ Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 44, 147-150 (1974; Zbl 0286.47036)] for solving an equation (1) \(x+Tx= f\) where \(T\) is an \(m\)-accretive operator with closed domain in \(X\) and bounded range in \(X\) which need not be Lipschitz. The iterations are shown to converge strongly to the unique solution of (1). Some related results are given for continuous dissipative operator equations. The results provide some generalizations of results of \textit{C. E. Chidume} and \textit{M. O. Osilike} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 189, No. 1, 225-239 (1995; Zbl 0824.47050)] and L. Zhu [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 188, No. 2, 410-415 (1994)].
