Orthogonal polynomials which satisfy three-term recursion formulas in which the coefficient sequences monotonically increase to infinity at a limited rate of growth are investigated. The corresponding Jacobi matrices represent unbounded selfadjoint operators which are bounded above or below and have no eigenvalues. The measure of orthogonality is proved to be absolute continuous.
