Let \(S(k;f) = Sq(2^{k-1}f)\cdot Sq(2^{k-2}) \cdots Sq(2f)\cdot Sq(f)\) in the mod-2 Steenrod algebra \({\mathcal A}^{*}\), and let \(\chi\) denote the canonical antiautomorphism of \({\mathcal A}^{*}\). Given positive integers \(k\), \(\Lambda\) and \(j\) with \(1 \leq j \leq \Lambda\), this paper shows that \[ \chi S(k;2^{\Lambda} - j)= S(\Lambda - (j-1); 2^{j-1}(2^{k} -1))\cdot \chi S(k; 2^{j-1} -j). \]
