Polyhedral realizations of crystal bases for quantized Kac-Moody algebras (Q1372876): Difference between revisions

The authors study the basis of the \(q\)-deformation \(U_q^-({\mathfrak g})\) of the universal enveloping algebra of the nilpotent part of the Kac-Moody algebra \({\mathfrak g}\). They give a bijective parametrization of the crystal basis for \(U^-_q({\mathfrak g})\) by integer sequences satisfying certain linear inequalities (Theorem 3.1). Geometrically the basis vectors are parametrized by lattice points in a suitable polyhedral convex cone -- hence ``polyhedral realizations''. In the proof technical assumptions are needed, which are checked to be valid in many cases including the ordinary and affine Lie algebras of type \(A\). The authors claim it conceivable that the assumptions are always satisfied. The last sections of the paper are devoted to an explicit application to the cases that \({\mathfrak g}\) is of rank 2, of type \(A_n\), and of type \(A_{n-1}^{(n)}\).
