The reviewed paper is a survey of results about properties of stable groups. These are classified into three main categories: 1. chain condition, i.e. the fact that in a stable group any chain of intersections of subgroups which are given by a formula \(\varphi(x,\overline a)\) with varying parameter \(\overline a\) must have finite length, bounded by a number depending only on the formula \(\varphi\); 2) the existence of generic types and generic formulae; 3) some form of rank.
