The paper deals with the study of maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules over rings of the form \(k[[x]]/ f(x)\), \(k[[x,y]]/ (f+g)\), where the rings of formal power series are in the variables \(x= x_1,\dots, x_n\), \(y= y_1,\dots, y_m\), and \(f\) and \(g\) are non-zero non-invertible. The method includes the computation of infinitesimal deformations of \(k[[x]]/ (f)\)-modules.
