The paper contains a study of the global structure of foliations of codimension greater than one in a closed manifold of finite dimension. Let \((M,F)\) be a foliated manifold where \(\text{codim\,}F\geq 2\). The authors consider the structure of \(F\) which admits a transverse foliation \(\Gamma\). Let \(U\) be a open connected \(F\)-saturated set from \(M\) which satisfies: I) If for every \(x\in U\), the transverse leaf \(T_x\) of \(\Gamma\) passing through \(x\) meets \(M-U\); II) If \(U\) contains a transverse leaf and for every transverse leaf \(T\subset U\), then \(\text{Sat}(T)= U\); \(\text{Sat}(T)\) is the saturated set for the leaves of \(F\). Let \(D\) be the union of all open local minimal sets of \(F\), and \(R\) is the union of all regular open sets. If \(A\) denotes the union of all open sets which satisfy I), and \(C\) is the union of all open sets which satisfy II), then the main results of this work is the following theorem: ``1. The union \(A\cup D\) is open and dense in \(M\) and we have: \(A\cup D\subset A\cup R\subset A\cup C\); 2. \(M- A\cup C= \bigcup_{1\leq i\leq p} F_\Omega(C_i)\) where \((C_i)_{1\leq i\leq p}\) are finite connected components of \(A\cup C\) which do not satisfy property I); 3. \(C-A\) is a union of finite local minimal sets of \(F\)''.
