Die Note enthält einen sehr einfachen auf geometrische Betrachtungen gestützten Beweis der für die Theorie der Fourierschen Reihe wichtigen Formel \[ \lim_{\alpha=1} \int^{b}_{a}\;\frac{(1 - a^2) f(x) dx}{1+\alpha^2- 2\alpha \cos x} = \pi\{f(+0)+f(-0)\}, \] falls \(-2\pi<a<0\) und \(2\pi > b > 0\) ist.
