Die vorliegende Arbeit will einen strengen Beweis dieses wichtigen Satzes geben, der auf denselben elementaren Principien beruht (Elimination zwischen zwei Systemen von Gleichungen) wie der Beweis, den Brioschi in seinen ``Determinanten'' gegeben hat und der in Schellbach's Uebersetzung des Werkes reproducirt worden ist. Dem Beweis von Brioschi wirft Herr Falk Unvollständigkeit vor, insofern als er die Zähler der zwei Quotienten nicht berücksichtigt, aus deren Gleichheit die der Nenner gefolgert wird.
