In einer früheren Abhandlung (Zeuthen Tidskr. 1872 p. 1 siehe F. d. M. IV. p. 94, JFM 04.0094.01) hat der Verfasser eine neue Darstellung der Methode der kleinsten Quadrate gegeben. Hier wird als Supplement derselben ein Schema aufgestellt, nach welchem die Rechnung demgemäss auszuführen sei. Das hier angegebene Verfahren kann in besonderen Fällen gewiss seinen Nutzen haben, insbesondere wenn es sich um die Darstellung einer Reihe von Beobachtungen mittelst eine continuirlichen Formel z. B. einer Potenzenreihe handelt.
