Es handelt sich um die Aufstellung des allgemeinen Integrals solcher Differentialgleichungen, die durch das Verschwinden eines Differentialausdrucks zweiten Grades mit constanten Coefficienten vorgestellt sind. Die analytische Methode, deren sich der Verfasser bedient und mit deren Hülfe er zu eleganten Resultaten geführt wird, lehnt sich an verschiedenartige geometrische Vorstellungen an.
