The community toolkit PARAMESH is described. This package of Fortran subroutines is designed to provide a parallel support for computational models those using a logically Cartesian structured meshes. The PARAMESH package is designed to provide a program builder an easy toolkit to extend an existing serial code into a parallel code with adaptive mesh refinement. Four examples of the application of PARAMESH to complex fluid code are given. To illustrate the characteristics which can be achieved with the toolkit the measurements of solution time, load balance are performed. This toolkit may be useful to simulate complex processes of gas dynamics and hydrodynamics, which span very large ranges in spatial scale.
