Based on the lower semicontinuity of the Kobayashi distance, formulated and proved in Section 3 of the paper, the authors obtain a locally uniform convergence of the sequence of iterates in the Denjoy-Wolff type theorem (Theorem 4.1). Due to the fact that each holomorphic mapping is nonexpansive with respect to the Kobayashi distance, as a consequence, the theorem is also valid for holomorphic mappings and is stronger than related results, as shown in Example 4.1.
