Cellular automata with points of equicontinuity are studied. For these maps it is shown that surjectivity implies the existence of a dense set of periodic points (and this is extended to maps on transitive subshifts of finite type). Any (spatial) shift-invariant measure which gives the set of points of equicontinuity full measure is shown to Cesàro converge; the limiting measure is described and some results on its support are given.
