\textit{W. F. Trench} [J. Soc. Ind. Appl. Math. 12, 515-522 (1964; Zbl 0131.36002)] showed how, under modest hypotheses, the inverse of a Toeplitz matrix \(T=\left[ a_{p-q}\right]_{p,q=0}^{n}\) can be reconstructed from a knowledge of \(T\) and the first and last columns of \(T^{-1}.\) The theorem has since been generalized in various ways, and the present paper gives another modification of this result.
