The paper investigates the multiplicative ideal theory of Leavitt path algebras which is a subject of intensive study in ring theory, invented a decade ago. Motivated by the classical ideal theory of commutative Noetherian rings and the corresponding for \(C^*\)-algebras, the paper classifies graphs such that all ideals of the associated Leavitt path algebras are prime or intersections of prime ideals, respectively. It is also proved that under these conditions an ideal is prime if and only if it is primitive. The authors discuss the uniqueness of representations of an ideal as finite irredundant intersections of prime ideals, too. The extension of Krull's intersection theorem is given in Section 3, which contains several related interesting results.
