The idea of \textit{L. Cădariu} and \textit{V. Radu} [Grazer Math. Ber. 346, 43--52 (2004; Zbl 1060.39028)] is adopted to prove the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the functional equation of the square root spiral \(f(\surd(r^{2}+1))=f(r)+tan^{-1}(1/r)\).
