The authors compare different definitions of homothetic functions which generalize the concept of homogeneous functions. They give a general form of all homothetic functions in the sense of \textit{J. K. Whitaker} and \textit{B. T. McCallum} [On the homotheticity of production functions. Western Economic J. 9, 57-63 (1971)] defined in a real cone \(X \subset \mathbb{R}^ n_ +\), that is: the functions \(f:X \to \mathbb{R}\) such that, whenever \(f(x)=f(y)\), \(x,y\in X\) it follows that \(f(tx)=f(ty)\) for every \(t \in \mathbb{R}_ +\).
