This paper is interesting because it deals with new families of orthogonal polynomials. It provides a generalization of the work of \textit{J. Wimp} and \textit{H. Kiesel} [Ann. Numer. Math. 2, No. 1--4, 169--180 (1995; Zbl 0874.33007)] who generated some new orthogonal polynomials from Cheybshev polynomials of the second kind. The authors consider a class of polynomials \(\widetilde P_n(x)\) defined by \[ \widetilde P_n(x)= (a_n x+ b_n) P_{n-1}(x)+ (1- a_n) P_n(x), \] \(n= 0,1,2,\dots, u_0\neq 1\), where the \(P_k(x)\) are non-classical orthogonal polynomials satisfying the well-known three-term reference relation. There are also explicitly derived the sequence \(a_n\) and \(b_n\) in general and illustrated by some concrete relevant examples in order to assure the orthogonality of \(\{\widetilde P_n\}\).
