It is known that for the heat equation we have the asymptotic expansion \[ \left\| u(x,t)-\sum_{\left| \alpha \right| \leq k}\frac{ (-1)^{\left| \alpha \right| }}{\alpha !}\left( \int_{\mathbb R^{d}}u_{0}(x)x^{\alpha }\right) \partial ^{\alpha }G_{t}\right\| _{L^{q}(\mathbb R^{d})}\leq Ct^{-A} \] where \(G_{t}(x)=(4\pi t)^{-d/2}e^{-|x|^{2}/(4t)}\) for some positive constant \(C\) and \(A.\) Inspired by this fact, the authors proved an analogous expansion result for the non-local problem \[ \begin{cases} u_{t}(x,t)=J*u-u(x,t), &t>0,\;x\in\mathbb R^{d}, \\ u(x,0)=u_{0}(x),& x\in\mathbb R^{d} \end{cases} \] where \(J:\mathbb R^{d}\rightarrow\mathbb R\) verifies \(\int_{\mathbb R^{d}}J(x)\,dx=1\) and \( (J*u)(x,t)=\int_{\mathbb R^{d}}J(y-x)u(x,t)\,dx\). They found a similar estimates with \(K_{t}\) (instead of \(G_{t})\) defined by \[ \widehat{K}_{t}(\xi )=e^{-t}\left( e^{t\widehat{J}(\xi )}-1\right) \] under a certain summability condition on the initial data \(u_{0}.\) As a second result they prove that the difference between the higher order terms in the two asymptotic expansions is of lower order. Finally, the find the first two terms in the asymptotic expansion with weak assumptions on \(J\).
