Let \(H\) be a complex Hilbert space, \(B(H)\) the Banach algebra of all bounded linear operators on \(H\), and let \(\sigma (A)\) denotes the spectrum of an operator \(A\in B(H)\). For \(\epsilon>0\), the \(\epsilon\)-pseudospectrum \(\sigma_{\epsilon} (A)\) of \(A\) is defined by \[ \sigma_{\epsilon} (A)=\{z\in \sigma (A+E):E\in B(H),\;\left\|E\right\|\leq \epsilon\}. \] The aim of this excellent paper is to characterize the pseudospectra of some special classes of operators. Moreover, the authors give a complete description of the maps on \(B(H)\) which leave invariant the pseudospectra of \(A\bullet B\). Here, \(A\bullet B\) is one of the binary operations: \(A-B\), \(AB\), \(AB+BA\). After the introductory section, the authors give a complete description of some special classes of operators in terms of the pseudospectrum. The last three sections are devoted to the characterization of maps \(\phi\) such that \(\phi(\sigma_{\epsilon} (A\bullet B))=\sigma_{\epsilon} (\phi(A)\bullet \phi(B))\). The results are new and well presented. Some results are generalizations of the previous work. Moreover, the authors present some new tools in the field of preservers.
