The authors study covers of degree \(4\) associated with a bielliptic curve of genus \(g\geq 6\), \(\varrho:C\to{\mathbb P}^1\), considering the factorization \(C\hookrightarrow{\mathbb P}\to{\mathbb P}^1 \), where \({\mathbb P}\) is a certain \({\mathbb P}^2\)--bundle. The main results concern the equations of \(C\) in \({\mathbb P}\). As a consequence one obtains the unirationality of the moduli space \(\mathfrak M^{be}_g\) of bielliptic curves of genus \(g\geq 6\) and the rationality of the Hurwitz scheme \(\mathfrak H ^{be}_{4,g}\) of bielliptic curves of even genus.
