\textit{P. Kostyrko}, \textit{T. Salat} and \textit{W. Wilczynsky} [Real Anal. Exch. 26, No.~2, 669--685 (2001; Zbl 1021.40001)] introduced the notion of \({\mathcal I}\)-convergence of sequences in a metric space, and studied properties of this notion. The authors of the paper under review offer a decomposition theorem for \({\mathcal I}\)-convergent sequences and introduce the new notions of \({\mathcal I}\)-Cauchy, resp. \({\mathcal I}^*\)-Cauchy sequences. Some interesting properties are pointed out.
