Denote by \(H_n\), \(n\geq 2\), the set of rational functions of the form \(y(t)= (\sum^n_{k=0} a_k t^k)/ (\sum^n_{k=0} b_k t^k)\) and let \(\varepsilon, \tau\in (0,1)\) be fixed. It is considered the problem to determine the functions \(y\in H_n\) for which \(0\leq y(t)\leq \varphi\) for \(|t|\geq 1/\tau\) and \(|y(t)- 1|\leq \varepsilon\) for \(t\in [-1,1]\) and such that \(\varphi\) is minimum possible. By using a result of Ye. I. Zolotarev it is shown that there are exactly two solutions of this problem and explicit formulas are obtained for them, expressed with the elliptic Jacobi's functions. Also, alternance points for these solutions are given.
