A hypercomplex structure on a manifold \(M\) consists of three complex structures \(\{ J_1,J_2,J_3\}\) related by the quaternionic algebra. The structure is said to be hyper-Hermitian if there is a Riemannian metric \(g\) which is Hermitian with respect to each complex structure (i.e., \(g(J_iX,J_iY)=g(X,Y)\), \(i=1,2,3\)). If dim \(M=4\), then a special significance of the hypercomplex structures comes from the fact that they induce an anti-self-dual conformal structure. Hence, the author focusses on the additional properties of the twistor space which are associated to a hyper-Hermitian structure.
