The paper under review is a comprehensive review article dealing with the asymptotic behaviour of waves and particles propagation in a heterogeneous medium. The heterogeneous medium is modeled as a collection of random media with known statistics. Hereby, the scale at which the medium varies and the speed of propagation are subject to certain constraints. In the first part, the authors consider in detail particle propagation in a random flow. It is shown that, under appropriate assumptions on the random flow, the ensemble average of the spatial particle density asymptotically solves a diffusion equation. Main object of the further parts of the paper is the characterisation of the asymptotic behaviour of waves in heterogeneous media. Several kinetic limits for different waves (quantum waves and classical ones) are presented. The table of contents provides an overview on the treated models and dynamics: 1. Introduction; 2. Diffusive limit for a particle in a random flow; 3. The Wigner transform; 4. Kinetic limits for the Liouville equations; 5. Radiative transport regime for the Schrödinger equation; 6. Kinetic models for correlations; 7. Application to time reversal.
