There has been much work recently on numerical Lie-group methods from two perspectives: the nilpotent case in which a global stability analysis can be performed in the Lie algebra and the general case where the analysis is done on a nonlinear Lie group through the generalization of the Alekseev-Gröbner Theorem to Lie groups. This gives an exponential closeness result in a Lie group setting.
