For the numerical solution of nonlinear Fredholm integral equations, the authors propose to discretize the integral via a Gaussian quadrature formula and then to compute the values of the approximate solution at the quadrature nodes with the help of a high order iterative scheme. For a special class of such schemes, convergence conditions are derived and the computational cost is investigated.
