In a previous paper [Acta Math. Hungar. 101, 281--291 (2003; Zbl 1050.39031)] the author studied the continuous solutions \(g: \mathbb{R}\to J,\; M: J\to\mathbb{R}\;\) (\(J\) is a real interval) of the functional equation \(g(x+M[g(x)]y)=H[g(x),g(y)]\) in the case where \(H: \mathbb{R}^2\to\mathbb{R}\) is symmetric. Here that assumption is dropped and all such solutions are determined under the additional condition card \(M^{-1}(\{0\})\leq 1.\) Other conditions and particular cases are also considered.
