The authors generalize the classical Lukács's theorem, pertaining to jumps at discontinuity of integrable functions, to some general linear operators including e.g. the Fejér means, de la Vallée-Poussin means, and Bernstein-Rogosinski means. Their proof was motivated by a recent result of \textit{F. Móricz} [Acta Math. Hung. 98, No. 3, 259--262 (2003; Zbl 1026.42004)] but the two proofs are different.
